Fire brigade
Shippagan’s volunteer firefighters respond to approximately xx emergency calls per year. All members of the service have had basic training, and some of them also have specialties such as using the jaws of life, water rescue and operating ladder trucks.
By providing emergency response services to residents, the Fire Service protects all of Shippagan’s inhabitants. This is a volunteer fire service. That means that each firefighter has a primary job and that fighting fires is a secondary job. In order to alert the firefighters quickly, the Fire Service uses a voice paging communications system.
